Good day everyone
This is our second post in the series of parenting tips that can help to your marriage.
Here you will find parenting tips that every couple should know in order to make your job easier by focusing your efforts on positive strategies that will allow you to bond with your child. Ready? Let’s go…
Remove everything from the countertop in the kitchen, recline your son or daughter on a towel, and allow water from the tap to soak their hair. Many toddlers fear having their hair rinsed by dunking their head underwater, so this method should take away some of that anxiety.
Establishing clear rules stated in positive language for family members to follow can be quite helpful in reducing conflict and helping your kids get along. For instance, instead of saying “no hitting” as a rule, you can reposition it as “always be gentle when touching”.
Create a written list of rules that your children must follow. Make sure they know the penalties for disregarding the rules, as well. While your children may not immediately realize it, one day they will realize and appreciate the fact that you took the time to create rules because you care about them. Setting rules will also make it easier to co-parent successfully with your spouse or partner.
A great way to start is to open up a 529 Plan and contribute to it regularly. This plan is a savings plan that your state operates to help you save money for college. There are tax benefits involved in opening a 529, as well.
If you want to be able to be a good parent to your child one of the things that you can do is to learn how to listen to them. Give them the chance to talk and learn the things that they want. If you practice this, your children will be able to open up more and discuss their problems with you.
Avoid pressuring your eighteen year old child regarding college choices. It might be your dream for them to attend your Alma mater, but you shouldn’t focus solely on that school. Teenagers don’t like to feel like they are controlled by you, and may often do completely the opposite.
A mesh teether containing carrots, cucumber or pickle could be helpful to your little one if they are having a hard time with their teeth coming through. Even though there are many ways to relieve the discomfort of teething, a child is most likely to enjoy using this method because of the taste. The more they chew, the more progress they make and the better they inevitably feel.
Be sure to use the family line at the airport security checkpoint if you are traveling with children. Major airports generally have one. This allows you to pace yourself without rushing your children through the longer lines. Everything must be x-rayed, and that includes car seats and the children’s shoes.
Imagine how your child will interpret what you tell him! Your kids need to know that you are trustworthy.
When giving your child his medicine, try mixing it up with something sweet-tasting. Orange juice is a good option, or simply put some sugar directly in the medicine. When applying eye drops, have your child keep their eyes closed, and put the drop directly on the eyelid. This will allow the medicine to enter the eye more gently than if dropped while the eye is open.
For children, playing is in their nature. Playtime is essential to a child’s physical and emotional development. However, putting time in their children’s schedules for unstructured play is not all that good parents do.
To calm your baby, apply lavender oil to your neck and lovingly hold your little one close to you. The smell of lavender is very soothing to the senses. The lavender can also run double duty in helping your baby fall asleep due to the calming properties of the oil.
Every parent needs an occasional break for their children. Find a friend or relative who can care for your children for an hour or two. Without the occasional break, parents are more likely to become very stressed. This increases tension in the household and may cause a mom or dad to snap at their children.
You can turn parenting from a chore into an enjoyable experience. Parenting is something a lot of people have done successfully, so a new parent has access to a great deal of highly-relevant advice. So, you should listen to these tips.
